Jeff
has been sewing since he was a young child. Under direction from
his mother, a first generation quilter, Jeff has fine-tuned his
skills and techniques. He contributes his talents to his family,
“If it wasn’t for them I would not be here to share the beautiful
gift that God has given me.” Only three years ago, with the
encouragement from family and friends, Jeff began making quilts,
wall hangings, vests, ribbon shirts, and dolls. He designs his
quilts to incorporate many of the sacred animals like horses,
wolves, buffalo, eagles, and the elk. He also includes the pipe,
feathers, and colors of the four directions, all of which are
traditional symbols of the Lakota people. His choice of material
and color greatly enhance and make his images more pronounced.
