About

As years has past and now I am an Elder, I am happy and able to pass this tradition of art to my children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and other Lakota Oyate. I was able to expand my art medium to people who had very little funds to pay for star quilts, or beadwork and quillwork. It wasn't the money that counted it was the enjoyment and the pleasant feeling of helping others." - Genevieve Running Horse Moore

“All of the communities know Genevieve’s artwork. She takes time to teach beading, quill work, and making star quilts. She helps all the Elders in the community, transporting them, and visiting with them about the old ways.” - Ollie Napesni, Nominator
