This workshop will provide participants instruction on the creation of beaded and Mixed Media Moccasins. Participants will be provided instruction on the creation of beaded and dentalium earrings. For moccasin making participants will learn the basics of moccasin making, designing moccasins with beads and applique pieces. Lakota design and meanings will be emphasized.

Participants will engage in various projects, including crafting rawhide belts and boxes, acrylic painting, knife sheaths, bows, and other weapons. The instructor will blend traditional teachings with modern techniques for each project. The program will also include harvesting a buffalo and utilizing all parts to create items such as headdresses, weapons, art, and toys.

The Leather Work Sessions will teach participants to make bags, wallets or belts. The first two sessions will cover design and cutting. Using leather work tools, the following two sessions will then allow participants to learn carving and tooling. Painting and Dyeing will then be demonstrated in the next two sessions. The final sessions will give participants the opportunity to assemble and complete their final leather work project.
Pre survey will be completed to determine the participants knowledge of sewing.Participants without any knowledge of sewing will learn how to use a sewing machine and all sewing accessory instruments. Participants with basic knowledge of sewing will familiarize themselves with the sewing machines and sewing accessory instruments. All participants will pick sewing projects offered in this series. The topics offered for the 2025 Sewing circle are: Ribbon shirts and skirts, Lakota Women's dance regalia appliquéd leggins, mocs, yoke/cape, hair ties, belts. T/inipi or Lakota Traditional dresses, men's Lakota dance appliquéd side drops, cuffs, leg and arm bands, mocs. Shawls both ribbon and fringe. Women's Lakota dance leggins, mocs, belts, yoke/cape, hair ties. Pre-made kits will be provided.

Participants will be guided through Taking Care of Your Spirit via traditional self-care with natural medicines and methods that men and women can use to support their relatives. Demonstrations of the use of self care products such as hair care with homemade shampoo will occur while sharing cultural knowledge. Additionally, participants will learn how to make homemade laundry soap. Attendees will also learn cultural teachings of sacred foods. As the demonstrations occur participants will create take-home kits to share with relatives.
