Lucky Salway

Born on Winter Solstice in Phoenix, AZ. from the first and last tribes to defeat the colonizing settlers in battle. I like to create art that shows pride in our existence and resistance to oppression. Through my brand True Descendants, Est.b.c. I design wearable resistance - where sacred symbolism, cultural-teachings and also some rez humor meet on streetwear. My "EST.B.C." mural in Pine Ridge declares our established existence here before colonization. My "You Are On O'odham Land" mural does the same but is aimed towards the University of Arizona through decolonizing their logos. Every piece educates about our proud culture through empowering visuals. I want the viewer to walk away from my art with an impacting feeling of pride, knowledge or just a good laugh.
