Introducing the 2026 First Peoples Fund Cultural Capital Fellows!

First Peoples Fund proudly announces the 2026 Cultural Capital Fellowship recipients– seven Indigenous culture bearers and artists from across the country. Each fellow receives a $10,000 grant and yearlong professional development, empowering them to elevate their art, preserve cultural traditions, and enrich the Indigenous Arts Ecology. With $110,000 in direct funding, this exceptional cohort represents the vibrant talent and cultural diversity thriving in Indigenous communities today.

“Their artistic creations and sharing of traditional knowledge not only enrich individual lives, but also strengthen cultural continuity and community well-being.”

“First Peoples Fund is honored to play a role in nurturing the growth and development of emerging and mid-career Native artists and culture bearers,” said Jaren Bonillo, Director/ Program Weaver of First Peoples Fund. “Their artistic creations and sharing of traditional knowledge not only enrich individual lives, but also strengthen cultural continuity and community well-being.”

Dedicated to uplifting and passing on ancestral knowledge within Native communities, our Cultural Capital Fellowship offers financial and technical support to culture bearers and artists. This yearlong program empowers them to further their essential work, ensuring the conservation and celebration of Indigenous heritage and traditions for future generations.
