Lavender Doris

Lavender Doris is a fashion designer and cultural artist whose work centers on Indigenous knowledge, healing, and artistic expression. An enrolled member of the Red Lake Nation of Anishinaabe, her designs honor cultural preservation through a contemporary lens, blending ancestral teachings with modern form and function. She creates high-quality, heirloom garments inspired by movement, water, and spirit, incorporating medicine florals, spiritual helpers, and historically traded materials, alongside locally sourced elements that uphold cultural and ecological integrity. Working in mixed media, Lavender weaves texture, balance, and meaning into every piece, drawing from both tradition and innovation. Her work is deeply rooted in community engagement, using art as a tool for spiritual healing, mentorship, and intergenerational knowledge-sharing.
