Danielle Jagelski is a composer, conductor, and creative producer. She is the Artistic Director and Co-founder of Renegade Opera and Founder of Simmer Arts. Her work has been performed at distinguished venues such as PSNY, Roulette Intermedium, and The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. Recent commissions have been for Voices of Ascension, New Native Theatre, North American Indigenous Songbook, Boston Opera Collaborative, and the Sister Singers Network. Upcoming commissions include works for More Art and Michigan State University. An enrolled citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe, Danielle often collaborates and performs with other Indigenous artists. She is passionate about kinship building and decolonization through interdisciplinary projects. As a conductor, Danielle is sought out for her execution of contemporary works. She is an Opera America IDEA grant recipient with Rhiana Yazzie, for their new opera “Little Ones.”
