Kenny Ray Ramos is an Iipay/Kumeyaay theatre practitioner from the Barona Band of Mission Indians. They grew up on the Barona Indian Reservation in San Diego County, CA and are an ensemble member at Cornerstone Theatre Company, where their favorite work includes "The Native Nation Trilogy." Regionally, they have worked with Native Voices, Perseverance Theatre, Denver Center, Seattle Rep, Center Theatre Group, Arena Stage, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and The Kennedy Center, where they assistant directed and performed in First Peoples Fund’s "We the Peoples Before." Recently, Kenny appeared in the Broadway national tour of "Peter Pan" and voiced a character on Netflix’s "Spirit Rangers." Awards: Theatre Communications Group Fox Fellowship, First Peoples Fund Cultural Capital Fellowship, Yale Center for the Study of Race Indigeneity & Transnational Migration Mellon Arts Fellowship. Education: BA American Indian Studies, UCLA. Kenny is passionate about making theater that centers Native perspectives and asserts tribal sovereignty.
