Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians

About

Aiyana Kline (they/she) is a non-binary Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and Black artist based just north of the Twin Cities. Working in gouache, watercolor, linocut printmaking, and digital illustration, their practice explores animals, plants, and Indigenous knowledge systems as a way to reconnect with land, story, and identity. Aiyana earned a BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has contributed to community murals, design projects, and public art for organizations such as the Midtown Greenway Coalition and NACDI. As a Cultural Bearer with the Native Youth Arts Collective, they support youth-driven projects focused on land, storytelling, and ancestral knowledge. Their work has been exhibited at 2Rivers Gallery, C.H. Booth Library, and the Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery. Through vibrant, narrative-based artwork, Aiyana seeks to create space for healing, visibility, and Indigenous joy in both gallery and community-centered environments.
