Oglala Sioux Tribe

About

I have been working in textiles for the last 28 years. I am a member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe, and I incorporate the culture into my work. I have created a variety of projects over the years, but my primary focus has been on Star Quilts.  My passion for working with textiles started from an early age by seeing my mother creating clothing and quilts for us. Watching her over the years inspired me to have a passion for sewing. This led me to start my own small business selling Star Quilts, Ribbon skirts, and other items.

In May 2022 I retired from my full-time job and I now have the opportunity to fully dedicate my time to my quilting. I would like to share my knowledge with others in my community. I would love to share with our youth and give them sewing lessons as well as have talking circles about our Culture.
